How to Get Started as a Volunteer
Whether you're a seasoned volunteer, or brand new, this page will walk you through everything you need to know in order to get started. No art experience required - just your creativity and enthusiasm!
Step 1: Complete Your School District Background Check, or Renew
This takes just a few minutes - please allow for a 2 week lead time, minimum, for the school district process this. And yes, it's free.
Step 2: Fill Out the Art Discovery Volunteer Form
This helps us learn how you'd like to be involved.
Step 3: We'll Connect You with a Classroom Lead
Based on your preferences, we'll connect you with the right lead.
Step 4: Your Lead Will Reach Out
Your lead will coordinate the timing and lesson planning with you.
Step 5: Have Questions? We're Here to Help!
For General Volunteers, your Lead is your main point of contact. If you have bigger questions about the Art Discovery program as a whole, feel free to reach out to the Art Discovery Chair - but make sure you keep your Lead in the loop and copy them!
Bonus: No Art Experience Required!
You do not need to be a professional artist to work with the kids, but it is extremely valuable that you have an interest in the visual arts.
